The city provincial government has formed the disaster alert volunteer that consists of 37 members who will assist Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD).

"Through his forum, they will be appreciated. I hope this forum could be developed well," expressed Acting Jakarta Governor, Sumarsono after declaration ceremony for forming the disaster alert volunteer, at City Hall, Thursday (4/13).

In the meantime, Jakarta BPBD Head, Husein Murad said cooperation along with the government, the residents the other stakeholders is required to handle disaster. Thus any disaster can be handled early.

"Jakarta BPBD is as the SKPD that coordinates with disaster handling integrally," he disclosed.

As known, the disaster alert volunteer formation refers to mandate of Law No. 24/2007 on Disaster Handling.
